Hebru Brantley is proud to announce “Theories From The Low End” an exhibition debuting during Art Basel in Wynwood, Miami. “Theories From The Low End” will open to the public on Thursday, December 1, 2016 and will remain open through January 7th 2017.

In his latest exhibition Brantley explores modern folklore, changing the dynamic of American mythology. Through these works he inserts black super heroes into the predominantly white American comic history. Using some of his more well-known characters Flyboy and Lil Momma, Brantley takes viewers on a journey through the complicated relationship between society and its ritualistic impulses. This series of paintings and sculpture challenges Hebru’s previous solo initiatives with a more direct approach to influences of human optimism and pessimism in the contemporary era.
